![]() ![]() ![]() Parasite Eve 1 does a tremendous job of showing us the layout of the city, how far we have to go to get places and exploiting the knowledge we've gained from the world map in cut scenes to really impress upon us the scale of these monsters and the events that are going on. We're traveling around a bit in this second game and it does a poor job of conveying to us how far we're actually going. There's no true sense of scale in Parasite Eve 2. In Parasite Eve 2 we just sort of seem to be following what the voice on the telephone tells us to do without most of the zany weird interactions we had in the first game, just even semi decent writing seems gone out the window for the sequel. The entire buddy cop aspect of the first game is gone, that along with the feeling of going back to the precinct and meeting with our team of detectives and naturally trying to investigate this weirdness going down in NY and figure out what to do about it. The overall story seemed like a huge downgrade. I completed Parasite Eve 2 last night and my goodness, what a massive let down this game was. After watching Kyle Bosman go thru Parasite Eve 1 last Christmas, which was very fun to watch him play that game, I decided I was gonna play thru both games before Kyles next Parasite Eve 2 Christmas stream. I skipped these games since the PS1 days (moreso Parasite Eve 2, I watched someone play a bit of Parasite Eve 1.) No particular reason why, I just never got around to it. ![]()
